SPC On The Airwaves

On a blustery October Sunday evening, Brian Sherlow and I drove over to the DevonAir studio in Exmouth for an interview with Howard James on his evening show. The last time we’d appeared on the show, we had to drive a 20 minute detour in torrential rain and contend with an alarm ringing throughout the show - so we were hoping for an easier time this visit! Thankfully, it all went without a hitch and we had an enjoyable 15 minute chat. It was an ideal opportunity to remind listeners about who we are as a club and how we are always happy to welcome new members. We talked a little about the rise of mobile phones leading to a greater uptake of photography by “the public” and how technology has made it easier over the years for people to try this as a hobby. We also spent time explaining about some of our activities, how we engage with the wider community and what the Chairperson and Vice Chair roles entail. All in all, it was great for SPC to be given this opportunity to spread the word about the club to DevonAir listeners and hopefully it will inspire some of them to give us a try.

You can listen to the interview here, from 00:14:58 (i.e. around 15 minutes into the programme): https://player.autopod.xyz/1067669
