Last night SPC travelled to Torquay for our 2024 Interclub Battle with Torbay Photographic Society and saw us continue our success from last year with yet another victory! The judge was Liz Webb from Tavistock, who was an interesting, fair judge, who provided insightful, constructive critiques and clearly articulated the reasoning behind her scoring.

The battle consists of 30 Prints and 30 Digital Images.

The prints were judged first - 15 from each club - and well done to Mike Hawkridge and Paul Gale from SPC who both scored 20/20 points for their images.

At the halfway point we were in the lead by 18 points. SPC had 252 points to Torbay's 234. A brilliant start. Then it was time for us to fill our stomachs with an excellent buffet. They even had cupcakes with their club logo on them!

It was then back to the serious business of the competition and onto the Digital Images (DPIs) - again 15 from each club. We were just beaten by Torbay on the DPIs by 6 points; 248 points to our 242.

However overall we were the winners, with an impressive margin of 12 points!! SPC had 494 points to Torbay's 482.

Well done to all of the club members whose images helped to secure this victory and for those who travelled to Torquay to support the club.
