Shoot Sidmouth

It’s our favourite crime of the year - 'Shoot Sidmouth' (strictly photographic evidence only!).
Fortunately, our meeting on Wednesday 24th September was not as dangerous as it sounds… it’s our annual autumn saunter around the homestead, armed with cameras and smartphones. All current SPC members are invited to join the evening and the event, which has been running for several years, seems to be more popular than ever, with a group of 23 enjoying an evening of photography, strolling along the seafront to Jacob’s Ladder, up into Connaught Gardens and back via the church to the centre of town.
The weather and tide were ideal for interesting images and, judging by the number of tripods being used, we should be in for some cracking sunset and dreamy long exposure images of the sea in our Show and Tell evening in December. This year the promenade was lined with fishermen and at least one member proudly boasted of having a dead mackerel shot!
As always, one of the main purposes of this event is to socialise, and all but one of the group finished the evening in the top room at The Anchor Inn in town. Judging by the noise and late departures, there may well have been some sore heads and throats the following morning.
It was also really good to have so many new members join in and I’m sure they will have seen what a friendly and welcoming organisation Sidmouth Photographic Club is.
