SPC Exhibition 2024

To a drum roll, much fanfare and lights, Sidmouth Photographic Club was thrilled to hold an Exhibition of our members’ work at Kennaway House, Sidmouth, from Tuesday 19th to Sunday 24th November.

Eighty framed images by talented club members were displayed during his week-long event - the first to be held since the club celebrated its 80th Anniversary in 2017. An additional digital presentation of the previous season’s winning competition photographs ensured there was plenty to see across a variety of genres. Framed images, mounted prints and greeting cards were offered for sale and a Prize Draw saw one lucky winner win their favourite picture from the exhibition.

To herald the Exhibition opening, a VIP Launch Party was held on 19^th November - Photographer and Royal Photographic Society Advocate Susan Brown FRPS attended the Reception and pronounced the Exhibition open, following which a private viewing was enjoyed by club members and their guests. Judges from the Western Counties Photographic Federation and special guests from the local and professional photographic communities joined us to peruse the wonderful collection of images on display by our talented photographers.

We had an amazing week, meeting many lovely residents and visitors from Sidmouth and the surrounding areas, as well as members from other camera clubs in our region. A rare autumn snowstorm that descended on Sidmouth midweek, tried hard to disrupt public (and steward) attendance, but it failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the committed team of volunteer club members who worked hard and with great spirit to curate and manage the exhibition.

When, after 6 days at Kennaway House, our event came to an end, it was clear that our 2024 exhibition had been extremely successful – comments received from members and the public were nothing short of glowing! The club was privileged to present members’ work to the public showing the high level of skill and professionalism of, and within the club, and thank everyone out there who supported us.
