Sidmouth Photographic Club Membership Application and Renewal 2025-2026 Season

For new members joining Sidmouth Photographic Club, and for existing members to renew their membership at the begining of the new season

Tick the following box to be included on the club distribution list for normal club emails - informing you of things we think you should know, advising you on an occasional basis when members have items of photographic equipment for sale, about trips, walks and other events, and dealing with all other legitimate business relevant to the running of the Club. 

Disclaimer and on-line use of images

Disclaimer:  Choose whether or not  to acknowledge the following Disclaimer  which is a requirement for participating in any SPC trip, walk or other outdoor activity. 

Any person participating in Sidmouth Photographic Club (SPC) activity, does so at their own risk. It is not the responsibility of SPC nor the activity Organiser to check the suitability of the individual to participate in any activity. It is the responsibility of the person participating in any activity to ensure that they are in a fit medical state to do so. By attending a SPC group activity (1) you acknowledge that the Organiser may not necessarily hold any formal qualifications in relation to activity leadership, or medical qualifications or training, and (2) you agree and acknowledge that this activity group has no legal duty of care to the members and guests and that neither SPC nor the activity Organiser accept liability for any loss or any accident occurring from or for any injuries arising out of participation in SPC’s activities.

If you do not acknowledge the above Disclaimer you will be unable to participate in any club event not held at the normal club venues, such as trips, shoot Sidmouth etc.

Use of on-line images: Opt IN or OUT of an on-line presence for your images. This covers use of your competition or other images for the club website competitions galleries, your website member's gallery/portfolio, other website related purposes such as news features, posting to social media, publicising in Sidmouth Herald media which includes newsprint and on-line editions, and any other on-line presence which the Club deems to be beneficial to the club's publicity. This is an all or nothing choice as the administrative work in allowing members to select specific options is prohibitive.

Emergency Contact Details (spouse, partner, family member, friend, neighbour, etc)

The emergency contact should be someone normally reachable when you are at club meetings/events. Members’ emergency contact details are held in a file on the club website only accessible to the Chairperson, Vice Chairpeson and Secretary. The file can be consulted by these three officers should the need arise either at club meetings or on club events; in the latter case it may be necessary for an event organiser to contact one of the three club officers by phone to obtain the contact details required. This arrangement supercedes the previous regime where the list was held in a sealed envelope.

The information that you have provided on this form will be used by SPC to manage your membership, enable sharing of expertise within SPC and promote the club and its members on the SPC website, and in the event of emergency contact your next of kin and provide information to first responders. Your personal details will be held in digital as well as paper form accessible to the officers and committee of SPC. Your Emergency Contact Details will be held in digital form by the Secretary and in paper form contained in a sealed envelope for use only in emergency at SPC evenings and events. SPC complies with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation by means of its Data Privacy Policy. You have statutory rights to access your personal data and in the first place should contact the Secretary.
